Therapy for Adolescents
Most people look back on their teen years as some of the most difficult years of their lives. Developmentally, teenagers are navigating tremendous change that can be both exciting and overwhelming. Some common challenges faced by teens include depression, anxiety, identity issues, self-esteem challenges, loneliness, bullying, addiction, academic challenges, and troublesome relationships. I work from a place of acceptance and respect with all of my clients, and especially with teenagers who often feel disrespected and unimportant. In my experience, sometimes teens just need to be heard and supported and a place where they can share what is happening in their lives away from their immediate social circle. Other times they need more intensive, deeper work in order to face the challenges of this crucially important transitional time in their lives. Whether you need a listening ear or deeper work, I am here for you. I will advocate for you and help you face whatever you are facing with compassion and non-judgment. If you are a parent or a teenager looking for help, please reach out – I would love to chat with you.
